The title means My Monday in German!
Haven’t been writing any posts lately so I thought I’ll just post a short one today.
Went out on Monday to get our shoes and my jeans, as well as collect vouchers from openrice, eat Just Like It icecream !!
1. Just Like It
It’s ice cream that’s made from liquid nitrogen on the spot, it’s actually quite nice to see how they make it. It’s not my first time seeing it but it still fascinates me alot. Thanks to Alicia who introduced this to us! Bought $3.90 and $2.90 off qoo10 (gmarket) and it was a good deal because the original price was $5.90, premium flavors at $6.90. We ordered one classic flavor ($5.90, Rum and Mint) and a premium flavor ($6.90, Durian, which we topped up another $1 for it)! The ice cream was quite good!!! It’s not sticky like the other ice cream and it leaves a very smooth feeling down my throat. The only downside is the price though. But I supposed with all the equipment needed to make it, it’s no wonder its priced at $5.90. Outlets @ tampines, Ion orchard and AMK. New outlet opening at RWS (or is it already opened??)
2. Palladium boots
I know typically everyone buys boots from Timberland for winter/cold countries/season. Initially I wanted timberland but kept putting it off because 1) my fav earthkeeper series apparently is not waterproof (or so I checked) and 2) they are super heavy and quite tedious to walk in, for someone who’s short, I don’t want to come across as looking stout -.-
Anyway, one day, Yk and I chanced upon the Palladium shop at Ion while randomly walking past and to us, it was just a shop selling boots that looked very stylish. I have never even heard of the brand before! So we walked in and looked around, enquired for the price and went out without buying anything. The first thought that came to my mind while holding the shoes was, it’s so much lighter compared to timberlands, price wise quite similar but yet so much more nicer and lighter. AND IT’S WATERPROOF. But $229? No, we thought, lets just look around for cheaper ones.
I actually went a second time with Rachel, to feel the boots again and ask which were the ones that are waterproof and what makes it so different from the ones that aren’t. But I still didn’t buy.
Yk and I went to IMM to check out the so called factory outlet of timberland (there’s another one at Changì City Point). But the prices are not very much marked down leh. The boots still costs $179, $199 etc. I think it’s cheaper in US for the factory outlet prices. Anyway do check out Changì city point! It’s like IMM tho it has lesser dining places but I really love the fact that they have a PUMA outlet there!!! It’s so similar to the one at HK. And also because I’m very biased, huge Puma fan.
Enough of sidetracking. Then one day Yk told me, “I’ve decided to buy the Palladium boots.” Inside my mind I was like, “YES!” The palladium boots have been on my mind ever since the second time I went and so we headed down on Monday!
The aunty that was attending to us was so nice!!! And also because no one was in the shop too. Hehe. She gave quite alot of friendly opinions which I eventually heeded because it was what I was thinking too: Comfort. I got the $229 maroon one that was waterproof and probably don’t really look like on the outside. And because both of us both it together, she kindly gave us a 10% discount! So we paid $206.1 each for a pair of trendy, light weight, waterproof, unique (because most of the ppl in the class are wearing timberland which is so mainstream)! Yeah I like to be set apart, don’t like to follow the norm if I can help it.
I didn’t take a photo of the boots yet (but I will when I start wearing at Munich). So here’s a photo of our cool plastic bags! You can totally use it as a shopping bag! It has a long strap which is adjustable and can act as a sling bag lol. Cool or what!
3. I wanted to buy a new pair of jeans for the trip but its super difficult to find a good fit, good price one. Call me a hoarder, I’ve over 10 pairs of jeans but I’m still buying. Lol. I went to Esprit and Pull&Bear but after trying some, none of them was what I had in mind!! Personally, I think Levi’s has a good range of jeans for all sizes, and body shapes. However it’s far too expensive although I must say the quality and cutting is really good. So what’s next?
Denizen is a good choice if you’re looking for a perfect pair of jeans. It’s like the sister brand / cheaper version of Levi’s which probably explains why it’s cheaper! Although the quality might not be that good but for half the price of Levi’s plus good cutting, I think it’s worth it! I’m not sure why but every year I go inside to get a pair, the person would say, “2 pairs for $99”. I guess it’s always an ongoing promotion. So I got Yk to buy another pair with me. Hehe.
We went to the tampines outlet but the black jeans that Yk wanted in his size was OOS so we left.
And after going ION and getting our shoes, we went to Jurong Point Denizen which was twice bigger than the one at tampines!
He wanted to get a pair that was more fitting but after seeing him wear the skinnier kind, I still think he looks best with the normal classic slim? I got a skinny one but it doesn’t seem extremely skinny to me but nevertheless I felt comfortable and flattering in it! It’s fitting yet not tight, and thus this time I did not have to alter because it does not fall to my shoes. Yk got a grey one and then the auntie helping us told us that if we get any third item in the stall, it’s just another $20. Like too good to be true right!! But it’s true >< anyway the auntie choose a pair of jeans for him and I think he really looked good in it so I just asked him to get it!!!!!
So in total, we paid $119.90 for 3 pairs of jeans. MUAHAHAHAHA. Win!
Okay pretty much the end of my rambles for Monday! Didn't had a very good few days after that though, the mind didn't seemed like it can concentrate on the upcoming exam. Lets just hope all the money problems are settled. DB Y U SO GERMAN. I can't read much on the website and was so utterly pissed. Sian. Why am I leaving so soon!!! I still lots to do. Zzz.
