How I spent my 22nd (Part 2)

Hi, I’m back! This will be a short post. Bee busy with housework before mum comes back, need to clean the house! And also planning for the next staycation with the clowns and noobs!

Okay, so I met the girls on 29th! From Tim Ho Wan plan a month back until Eat play love, until Paul Bakery to Crystal Jade in the end. Paul was a tad too ex as commented by them because they checked out the menu while queueing and said to be back for desserts which we never did in the end! Haha.

We didn’t order much, thankfully also, because our dinner was rather early! We ordered Roasted Pork, Crystal Jade Congee, Shrimp Chee Cheong Fun, Prawn Dumplings, Siew Mai, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns and Custard Buns. Total bill was $52! The food was nothing much to rave about, except for the roasted pork, I recommend it because there’s not much wow stuff there. The roasted pork came with mustard sauce which was rather… unusual! Order the egg tarts probably? Saw it on the menu but manda never order for me *weeps* Anyway I was late that day and when I went in they already ticked most of the dishes that we ordered, so I was catching my breath and trying to look at the menu. And I finally brought my dslr out! Oh ya, don’t order the custard bun, it isn’t what we thought to be. The custard did not ooze out, it’s actually quite little and the bun was a tad too thick. Oh, plain water costs $0.30, basically everything there costs money, including the wet tissue and pickles/peanuts.

EHH we just happened to be there. (ya near geylang I know -.-)

Anyway story of how we ended up there; met yk early in the morning to go to pasir ris farmway to get dog/cat food at wholesale prices. We got quite a lot at $165? yk had to return the van back to his brother so he drove to his mum’s workplace and then we walked to the bus stop and saw this dimsum place. I didn’t have breakfast so I said to settle for brunch there!

We ordered crispy tofu, prawn dumplings, chicken porridge and char siew chee cheong fun plus a drink which was supposed to be some mixed drink but turned out super normal -.-

The crispy tofu ($3.20) was not too bad, there’s prawn fillings inside the tofu which makes it expensive but at the same time nice and filling. The Har gao ($3.20 prawn dumplings) has nothing to rave about, it’s just normal like any other har gao you eat outside. The porridge was quite expensive at $5. Plus there wasn’t much meat in it too and it tasted very normal, and I can definitely have 2 bowls of porridge at Lai kee, smaller portion of course but super nice. As for the chee cheong fun, we choose the char siew ($3.20) one because we didn’t want to have too many prawn dishes. Also very normal. I can get more at Lai Kee dimsum, nicer somemore for a cheaper price.

We went to town for nothing after that and bused back to jurong jcube to have macdonalds and I’M SO IN LOVE WITH THE THAI CITRUS FRIES. It tasted just like tom yum! I’ve fetish for tom yum these days, my lunch is just tom yum ban mian, I think my stomach has a big hole.
